Episode 4- Country Club
Enduro, Booneville NC 12/08/2005-
Racing Enduros means
dealing with tough conditions and the elements, the Country Club
Enduro was a perfect reminder of that - sorry no valet parking
at this country club. It was in the high 20's low
30's at sign-in at 7:00 am and at the start with lots of ice
covered pools of water and frozen mud - fun stuff. The
race was shortened to two laps on a GNCC course. A blown
clutch on my WR450 kept me from the finish line, but with some
help from a sweeper rider I made it out of the woods after 2
hours of watching from the trail. Team EnduroCast
did have Joe Marion on his 450 ATV who finished in the top 10.
Harsh conditions are
tough on the racers and the interviews afterwards as we'll hear
from the wind whipping over the mic's. Even with the cold
and wind we got some great interviews with the highlight being a
chat with SETRA Enduro and Hare Scramble 04/05 Champion
Stephen Edmondson.
We also talked with
Greg Darnell and SETRA's
Andy McRee who manages the SETRA online forum on the SETRA
web site and who is quite a racer.
EnduroCast.com
also had an opportunity to speak to one of the race service
providers that we all know and have seen across the east coast -
David Smith from
Racedaypix.com, hear how David and his team get all those
great shots. |
